DRIPBL Research Validated Through Peer-Reviewed Publication at ASEE 2026

DRIPBL is proud to announce a significant milestone in its journey of transforming STEM education. Our research, “Bridging Theory and Practice: A DRIPBL Model for Enhancing Innovation, Entrepreneurship, and Experiential Learning in Engineering/STEM Curricula,” has been presented at the 2026 American Society for Engineering Education (ASEE) Annual Conference, one of the world’s most respected conferences dedicated to engineering education. The study underwent a rigorous peer-review process, validating the effectiveness of the DRIPBL framework in developing future innovators and entrepreneurs.

The research, co-authored by Rachna Nath, Sarah Abboud, and Dr. Sushma Kotru from The University of Alabama, analyzed data from 693 STEM students across five cohorts (2021–2024). The findings clearly demonstrate that students participating in the full DRIPBL model consistently outperformed their peers in research, innovation, grant acquisition, and entrepreneurship.

Key Research Findings

The peer-reviewed study revealed several remarkable outcomes:

  • Students enrolled in the High-Fidelity DRIPBL model were significantly more likely to qualify for prestigious science and engineering competitions.
  • 73.5% of students qualifying for the Arizona Science and Engineering Fair (AzSEF) earned awards.
  • DRIPBL participation was a statistically significant predictor of qualification for the Regeneron International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF).
  • Students in the complete DRIPBL program were 40 times more likely to participate in professional grant writing.
  • Student-led proposals secured 15 competitive grants worth more than $100,000.
  • Research publication acceptance rates reached 80–100% in peer-reviewed journals.

These results reinforce what educators and students have experienced throughout the years: innovation is not accidental—it can be systematically taught through the right educational framework.

Advancing STEM Education Through Research-Based Learning

DRIPBL (Dream, Research, Innovate, Problem/Project-Based Learning) bridges the gap between classroom learning and real-world innovation. Rather than focusing solely on theoretical concepts, students learn how to identify meaningful problems, conduct research, develop innovative solutions, secure funding, protect intellectual property, and communicate their discoveries through publications and presentations.

The peer-reviewed validation at ASEE 2026 represents an important step toward expanding DRIPBL into colleges, universities, and educational institutions seeking evidence-based experiential learning models.

Applications Now Open – Limited Seats Available
