The Congressional App Challenge is a prestigious national initiative that encourages middle and high school students to learn to code and create original apps that address real-world problems. Each year, students from across the country submit innovative projects that solve real-world problems using technology. They showcase their creativity and technical skills, with winners recognized by their Members of Congress.
We’re thrilled to announce that Suhana Chand, a DRIPBL 2025-2026 student, won the 2025 Congressional App Challenge for Arizona’s 8th District with her groundbreaking app ArtiVision. Designed to enhance accessibility and visual interpretation to help people with visual impairments better understand their surroundings using AI. Her app ArtiVision impressed judges with its innovation and impact. You can learn more about her winning entry here.
In recognition of her achievement and leadership, Suhana was also selected as a Congressional App Challenge Ambassador, joining a select group of student leaders nationwide who promote STEM and computer science education while mentoring peers in their communities.
This year, Suhana will take on an exciting new role as our DRIPBL Congressional App Challenge Intern, where she’ll collaborate with students across the U.S., helping them develop their own app ideas, get involved in coding, app development, and prepare for the challenge. Her journey is a testament to the power of student-driven research and innovation.
